Poetry-Awakening

I realised I haven't posted any poetry in this blog...yes, I do write poetry sometimes. But it all comes down to being inspired and how I feel etc. Without emotions it'll probably sound superficial...so yes, I have found a new inspiration, it got me composing one and I would like to share it with you guys.

It's called Awakening

Rest within our restless hearts
Thoughts of the thoughtless ones
Deceiving ourselves to the serenity of the uncalculated error
Moving forward with the feeling of unsure

Oh have thou forsaken o darkness
It’s been long forgotten, my place before thee
Scent of it all just lingers away forever
To the deepest darkest of sight with flight
When I embraced you with gladness in mind

Now I hasten my footsteps, to the sunlight of the clear sky
Removed darkened skies it has
For dark has been my thoughts of late
For now I deny the grasp and spell of hate
I let go of thee, liberating myself as I set myself free
Live to the fullest, not bowing to thee,
O darkness of mine

I choose to see the light that has shone on me
I choose to be free, from the depths of the abyss of darkness
And I hope not to return
For the liberation of what is my soul
Need ever more is to awake from this darkness
And now I open my eyes
As I focus on what lies ahead
Promise to be always true
As of now, I am to be new
Forever
