RANT - "Empowerment"

I have been observing people...yes I do and frankly I'm currently doing this as a part of a study that I'm currently pursuing...for free. For myself, no one else. Not for university, not for some lecturer, not for some funky hot chick. No. Just plainly for personal reasons. And just today it got me to want to write about something that I have noticed. OK, basically I have been trying to figure out some patterns surrounding the human behavior, especially social behavior. And this certain pattern is very interesting....I noticed everybody..and I do mean EVERYBODY...wants empowerment!

Yes, it's no breakthrough perhaps. Some of us just knew this at the back of their heads that everybody needs empowerment...whether it be in work, social standing or even self-esteem. But you do realize that this empowerment has become a pattern so common, so disguised that everybody has a piece of the process in almost everything that they do? And what bothers me a little is that it has become a way of life and so much now it has become an unhealthy way of life.

Empowerment; what is it actually? To enable or permit, its a process of enabling yourself to feel power, the ability to manipulate a certain aspect of things or matter. It is such a common definition and now we have not been able to see that this empowerment now has gone off the roof and out of control, society ourselves now has been affected so bad, so many questions has risen.

How has it become an unhealthy way of life? How has it affected us all that it now becomes a reason to worry?

Well, think about it. You empower yourself to ignite that self esteem. You reach this whole new level of confidence and loved it. You really do. Then feeling of no content starts to take over and overwhelms you, you become in needing more of this empowerment then what? You go for more until to the extent of letting go of your very fundamental basics of other people's feelings, moral values etc. Tolerance goes out the window, especially when you have reached this whole new you where you feel like the whole world is at the tip of your fingers.

I have seen people pursuing empowerment in their work, in their need to be known, in their need for the opposite sex to notice them and then.... having the ability to manipulate the opposite sex (haha, this is true), I have seen people pursue empowerment in their social standards, I have seen people pursue empowerment in their financial status, I have seen people pursuing empowerment in politics, empowerment in how they look, empowerment in communications...people, I could go on forever telling where I have seen people pursuing empowerment. Believe me, its like almost everywhere!

Now, I don't have any solutions whatsoever. However, I would like those who read this post think about this: has empowerment overwhelmed you? Has it taken over you that you seem to let go of a few values that you thought as sacred? Values you thought you have never ever thought of breaking? If you haven't, then congratulations. You are not too late in your process of realization. However, be honest and if somehow or rather down the line later after reading this post you finally realized that you have been overwhelmed by empowerment and in certain areas, you have seek too much...ask yourself, has it done any damage ? Have you finally realized that this is not who you really are?

I really don't see myself in a position to give any advice but only a share of personal experience. I always try my best to fix any damage I have done. I make sure what I do is sincere and try my best to overcome what damage has caused and fix things. And of course, never to let it happen again.

I assure you reader, I am just appalled with what I realized here today and feel obligated to shed a little light on this matter. Please forgive me if you find this boring. Thank you.

RANT - What were you thinking boy??

Ok, the topic that I'm gonna discuss today is a little obscene but however I can't seem to stop thinking about it. The picture above was a grafitti written on one of the men's washroom cubicle. It bothered me the first time I saw it, and the second time I went to the same cubicle later that day I was just bothered enough to take the picture and decided to put it up on the blog and rant about it. I just have to!

Well, the grafitti says " Di situ buritmu, di situ juga batang ku"....in Malay language it means where ever your pussy's at, that's where my dick's gonna be....and the guy was proud enough to sign his name under the writings.

How did this grafitti bother me?

First and foremost...I can't seem to figure out what was his motive! Why? because its in the men's bathroom! No one enters there is ever gonna have pussy! 99% of the people who enters that cubicle only has a peanus! No matter how much the grafitti sounded like it was meant for the female species...no female is ever going to take a pee or shit there!! So who the heck is this guy talking to? How did he expect to get this message across?? Did he really hoped somehow or rather girls would enter the cubicle and realised there's a man willing to bring his peanus to any pussy? Or did he hope that one of his friends will read that grafitti and pass it on their female friends? What is the psychological reason really for this grafitti?

Unless....he was talking to the cleaning lady....WTF????All cleaning ladies here are makcik2 tua weh!!

But anyways, I managed to come to another assumption. He's probably Sarawakian, the word burit in Melayu Sarawak means ass, and he's probably saying "Where ever your ass is at, that's where my dick's gonna be" ....and yes, maybe the guy who wrote this..is GAY! He just arrived Bangi for like a week, couldn't really speak the local normal Malay dialect yet and realised he should just write it in in semi-Sarawakian dialect...OK,enough!

All right, I'm done with discussing about the reason why this guy wrote this. What do you think about what his motives were?

p/s:this is a true grafitti...

Think of your brain as a canister filled with ink....

"4 minutes to Warpner!"

Yes, I haven't been posting lately. Yes, I have been busy to the utmost extent. And yes, I kinda didn't have any idea what to write lately because I was pre-occupied...with something. Or some things. But anyways, here I am in the office on a Monday morning, early as anyone could be so I could clear some shit up...then I ended up blogging...happy to the fact that I'm using the wireless internet connection rather than the wired LAN where the IT department are complaining "you guys are using the international proxy and its jamming up our network!"...its actually because if you use the wired LAN and you're using the local proxy, the speed on the network is extremely disappointing and you have to connect yourself to the international one. Supposedly if too many people connect to it, it jams up.

I'm just wondering...if you set up a network for an international company to use...do you set it up for like only 10 people could use it? I mean, the speed of this network is awesomely fast and you can't accomodate like another two thousand people more?hmmm.

Anyways, had an awesome weekend.Hehehe,no Saj, I did not meet my end of the bargain but it sure was a right choice.haha. Met up with Elaine and Saj last weekend and this is one photo I took that nite.

I can't recognise you anymore Elaine!!!

Gotta work now damnnit!
